I bought an old synth from a thrift store, and had taken to learning piano chords. I had been pushing a heavy regiment of psychedelic medicine around this time, and was feeling that i had not payed enough attention to the space we live in, inner space, or the infinite space of the universe. I was feeling free. I had taken to staying in for days at a time, and learning how to stumble onto new sounds that i thought were fancy. I pulled a lot of inspiration for this track from the echo's of Old jamaican dub coursing through my adolescence soundtrack, and also from the lounge records that i used to dance to with my Gran in a very warm kitchen through the snowy cities of my childhood winters. I freestyled the lyrics for the tune in one take, and didn't change a tick or a lick because they remind me of my exact train of thought at that very special time. Dancing by myself, singing for the first time, letting go of fear, losing my mind to stay sane, pondering time and space, basking in the company of aloneness, and following smoke as it turned into cities filled with beings of light and drifted into the star filled crowds of Los Angeles.
Mitra, Tessa, Vanessa, and Tom i can't thank you enough for your playfulness, and for melting with me on this one. You are loved.
